Alien Clouds Over Columbia, SC?

Have you seen them? You know - those alien-looking yellow clouds blowing across the Midlands these past couple of weeks? Winter is (hopefully) finally over and here come the beautiful flowers and blooming trees, along with their means of procreation. Yes, plant love (aka pollen) is everywhere. Can you hear the sneezing? Why, I think I even have pollen in my shoes!


Ah, 'tis the season - of sneezing, watery eyes, and yellow, yellow, everywhere! Well, I'm off to find some local honey to help build my immunity to those pesky alien clouds ...or so I've been told.

Hello Everyone!
 


It's Springtime in the Mountains!

 

 
 

Reason number 2, 328 on the list of why I love living here.  Like so many other folks....when 2014 rolled around I said to myself, "Honey, you gotta get healthier".  Off to Mountain Valley Health Foods I went to stock up on Vitamins for "Women My Age".  It's the first true sunny day we've had, 78 degree high and this is what is "parked" next to me when I come out with my goodies.  Makes you smile and appreciate how fun it is to live here.  This pooch is definitely ready for summer!
 


   

Hiking at this time of year is awesome.  You see things that will no longer be visible in two weeks because the green, lush canopy of foliage will camouflage the homes that dot these mountains.  It happens overnight, I swear, and every year I try to slow it down just to "watch it unfold".   You blink...and then the trees are in bloom and those homes are gone from your vision!    Bringing your faithful companion with you is easy.   Check out these Dog Friendly Hikes in our area.

This is a sign we are seeing a lot these days!  The first quarter of 2014 has been a busy one for Franklin and Otto.  87 homes were sold with 45 of them being cash deals.  The average selling price was $133,015.  20 Land Sales were closed in this same time frame.

With 47 homes and 10 parcels of land currently under contract, we are gearing up for a busy spring.   Thinking about moving or purchasing a vacation home?  The inventory is outstanding with over 610 homes available for sale in our market.  Interest rates for a 30 year fixed conventional loan are close to 4.625%+/- and USDA loans (100% government backed loans) are hovering around 4.25%+/-.
